  3. A Musical Generator generates music from fractals, text, 
  4. pictures and numbers.

  6. Installing A Musical Generator
  7.  
  8. In order to use A Musical Generator, you must first unzip the
  9. File AMUGEN12.ZIP and next run the Setup program (SETUP.EXE) so 
  10. that it will work properly on your computer.  The files required 
  11. to run  the program are compressed to reduce download time and storage space.  
  12. Execution of  the setup program will decompress and write these 
  13. files on your computer's hard drive.

  15. 1. If installing from a ZIP file, use an unzipping program to 
  16. extract all files in the ZIP file  to an empty, temporary 
  17. directory such as C:\TEMP; if installing from diskette, insert 
  18. the A Musical Generator disk 1 into the appropriate floppy 
  19. drive. 
  20. 2. Click on the Start button on the Taskbar. Windows will open 
  21. the Start menu. 
  22. 3. Click on the Start menu's "Run" selection.  Windows will open 
  23. the "Run" dialog box. 
  24. 4. If installing from a ZIP file, type the drive and directory to 
  25. which you extracted the files  in step #2, followed by 
  26. "\SETUP.EXE"; if installing from a floppy drive, type the drive  
  27. letter of the floppy drive containing the A Musical Generator 
  28. files followed by  ":\SETUP.EXE". 
  29. 5. Click on the "OK" button to run the A Musical Generator 
  30. setup program. 
  31. 6. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

  33. In order to minimize the size of the shareware version of The 
  34. Musical Generator, no printable  user's manual has been provided. 
  35. However, the on-line help system included with this  shareware 
  36. version of A Musical Generator provides extensive information 
  37. on using the program.  You can access the on-line help system 
  38. whenever the program is open by selecting "Help  Topics..." from 
  39. the Help menu.

  43. This program is shareware and costs $25 to register. 
  44. Just run the program and the registration window automatically 
  45. pops up. Choose Register, fill in the details and send the input 
  46. form. You will receive a key that you can enter the next time you
  47. start up a Musical Generator.
